New Yamaha FZ-S priced at Rs. 78,250

Yamaha unveiled its 2014 FZ-S FI v2.0 on Monday and as the name suggests, the motorcycle comes equipped with a fuel injection unit for better fuel economy and throttle response.

The company got brand ambassador John Abraham to unveil the motorcycle.

The new FZ-S FI also features Yamaha’s new generation ‘blue core’ technology that helps in reducing frictional losses in engine. The motorcycle comes with a 149cc, 4-stroke engine, which is slightly less in terms of capacity compared to the current model. It belts out a maximum power of 13.1 PS and 12.8 N-m of maximum torque. 

Despite a decrease in power output, Yamaha is confident that it will not affect the motorcycle’s performance. The new FZ is also 3 kgs lighter than the outgoing model.

The motorcycle receives some cosmetic upgrades as well. It sports a new headlamp design, split-seats and comes with many colour options. The FZ comes in ‘Panther Black’ and ‘Scorching Red’ while the FZ-S model will be available in four colour options – Astral Blue, Moonwalk White, Cyber Green and Molten Orange. 

The FZ version is available for Rs. 76,250 (ex-showroom Delhi) while the FZ-S version will set you back by another two grand.
